*LJ posted some info about the recent attacks on the site here, and there was a very interesting post about the recent events by

synecdochic here. I had no idea that LJ was so politically important for Russia. In truth, I didn't even realize that LJ had such a big presence in Russia. That article leaves me feeling much more positive about LJ for being a platform for social change, while feeling disgusted at the idea that anyone would think it's acceptable to do this kind of thing, to continue to support a corrupt government. But at least it's good to know what's going on.
