LotR! Oh, how I miss it

pslasherI've just finished watching the last disc of the Return of the King extended edition and I'm missing LotR and Lotrips fandom terribly. It's been 10 years since they started filming!! What an amazingly fantastic and moving experience it was, the whole ride, and I feel so thankful that Peter Jackson and New Line were so generous in providing us so much material in the extended edition DVD's. I wonder if they have any plans for the upcoming 10 year anniversary.
I'm hoping that the Star Trek Reboot cast and franchise will continue on for several movies and grow to that level of emotional connection and history. I'm thinking that they will because the actors already seem to be very connected and the huge Trek fan base and franchise can support many more movies. While nothing can replace the LotR experience, I want Trek to be just as cherished in my memories when this is all over.
